I’ve recently discovered an animation that was rendered using the measured redshift of all 10,000 galaxies in the Hubble Ultra Deep Field image.

I’ve written a short script that leads you through a quick history of both deep field images and this video ends with a fly-through of the Ultra Deep Field.

Every galaxy in the image is in its proper distance as viewed from the telescope line of sight.

As if this image wasn’t amazing enough.

if aliens showed up in our solar system, we would have no choice but to nuke them, (or try to) if just one alien bacteria got to earth it could be the end of us..

dito7347 says:

Cannot wait to see what the JWST will be able to spot. A new era of human discovery and exploration is closer than ever before.

Landon Thomas says:

It's kinda depressing when you think about it when you realize that we've missed so much footage. But there's nothing we can do.

Kelvin Klopper says:

And still today there are people who believe the earth is flat and the moon is a hologram.

Joe Watts says:

god made it

jo bordonaro says:

"…there are over 100 billion galaxies in the universe — simply saying that number doesn't really mean much to us because it doesn't provide any context. Our brains have no way to accurately put that in any meaningful perspective… We occupy a very tiny place in the heavens."

Deacon Verter says:

Those deep pictures by themselves made the whole Hubble program worth the money. I wish I could watch Hubble de-orbit when it's job is done.

Ilse Ceulemans says:

iemand nederlands?

Alistair Wright says:

I used to ask the question "Does God know the limit of the Universe? Now I ask the question "Does the universe know the limit of God?" The answer of course is NO. Not even the entire universe is big enough to contain God. These images just declare even more the glory of God and his handywork.

CRISTIANO RONALDO says:

put this video in a VR

Food4Thought says:

I'm glad this has over 8 millions views.

Luchingador says:

to think.. we well never ever touch them..

Teemu M. says:

shouldn't you that Americans occupy a very tiny space in the universe? They are the only body here anyway!

Leonardo Fantinel says:

sad to know that most human beings will never know about this, simply cause they don't give a shit

MrVisuljak says:

It's a shame that we're still having debates about religion after watching this video. We should be mocking religion.

There are no gods except us – when we realise the simple truth and take responsibility, we will conquer the universe.

Mogumbo Gono says:

The universe is infinite.

Timbrock1000 says:

I'll bet Ken Ham hates this video!

sirtalis69 says:

Just imagine what we'll be able to see once the JWST is launched

300tank says:

What will be amazing is the day we discover the end of the universe not in our lifetime but will happen when we see nothing else but nothing or a solid block of ice who knows but I still believe we are the only humans in this universe only because we have seasons from a mistake millions of years ago no seasons no intelligent life.

Daniel Nolan says:

why dont we photograph another deep field? Technology has advanced since the last. Why dont we go back further than 10 billion LY? If we do wouldnt we eventually capture the start of space and time? Im sure its possible to go back further considering the last image was taken in 2002 or are scientists reluctant that we wont see what we believe to have been the big bang which will throw that theory out the window and make us re evaluate everything we know?

Hector Gamez says:

we look thru the eyes of Hubble and find out immeasurable stars, from this point we create speculations about the origins of cosmos and is age. We are wrong. This universe has been always, is eternal, no beginning no end and we, humans, plants and animals and all forms of living beings who inhabit this planet are the most and known important of the cosmos. Instead of speculating we should commit for the conservation of the nature that sustain all forms of life. But watching these images are fascinating. Love them.

Jerry says:

So…point Hubble at a dark spot in space and finding 3000 galaxies, each housing BILLIONS of stars!!
Some years later, they point Hubble at another dark spot in space and find 10.000 galaxies….if those galaxies also have billions of stars then I am absolutely convinced that we're not alone in the universe.

Istvan Homoki says:

Neil Tyson? Gotta love his voice.

leather rubedo says:

If this makes you feel insignificant, its because you don't realise you and the universe are one and the same. You are an expression of the universe in all its infinite span. Science has sold us this line that we are an accident in a trendless fluctuating material universe, yet the felt presence of existence completely contradicts this.

Sassymui8 says:

Thank you NASA. Thank you USA.
