Visit my website at http://www.junglejoel.com – the Pencil Nebula is shown in this new image from ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile. This giant cloud of glowing gas is part of a larger ring of debris left after a supernova explosion 11,000 years ago. The image was produced using the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2 meter telescope. Please rate and comment, thanks!
